I am writing this from Tokyo, perhaps a little surprising, however Lex McCorquodale has been an inspirational part of my working life since I joined Fell & Starkey 41 years ago as a vacationer. Nobody would argue that Lex was the complete professional, a pioneer in much that he did in his working life. Seldom do we meet someone who is so consistently positive with others, so self effacing, and so supportive of those around him.
Post his retirement I also came to know Lex in a more social context and was not at all surprised to hear my own family and some modern day colleagues remark on Lex's positive outlook at my farewell dinner in the E&Y boardroom last November.
Lex has made a singular contribution to my life and will remain forever in my heart.
