About

My Husband

Your first words to me 35 years ago were "can you please lift your feet"? Your last words to me on Saturday, June 4 were " I love you"

My best friend and loving father of our two beautiful children is now at peace resting with a glorious view of Mt Buller's snowcapped peaks, breathtaking pink sunsets and moonlight to provide him with a shimmering light at night. In your own words Babe you are in Gods own country.

Hubble, if i could live my life over, the one certainty i have is that i would always marry you...I miss you so much...love always Jo  xxxxx

Memories

Kathryn B

Kathryn Bongiovanni Dec 19, 2011

Dear Jo,

I am from Barwon (currently on maternity leave) and I know it has taken me quite some time, but I just wanted to let you know that even though some time has passed that Dave is still in my and so many peoples thoughts, especially as we near Christmas.

He was such a lovely man, warm, funny and with such a cheeky grin. I still remember the Thursday before he went hunting, we were standing outside the staff office at work, and he was looking for a leave form, he couldn't find them and he had much pleasure in telling me it's because my gut was in the way!!! That was our last conversation. We enjoyed a joke together and he was always asking how the next Hawk's supporter was going. Well I'm sorry to say but my baby will be a bombers supporter, but his middle name is David, after a great man.

He is greatly missed and deeply respected.

Thinking of you and your family.

My memory

Michelle Minett Aug 17, 2011

My memories are David go back a very long time. I have had the pleasure of being part of his teenage years, his young adult years and the years of his being a devoted husband and very loving father.

Through out all of this time, he has stayed true to himself and his gentle and nuturing personality has always shone through.

We have shared many many happy family holidays together whether it be here or overseas. I am very fortunate to have those memories and the laughter that results from them.

Family get togethers with his keen wit and insight into others. Holidays with minimal clothing packed, but of course the speedos were always remembered.

Your support and encourgagement to me personally will never be forgotten and just your gentle way of making me see the bigger picture and putting things into perspective have been very much appreciated and will be terribly missed.

You are in a lovely place that you so admired and enjoyed. Rest peacefully David.

All my love to Joanne Georgia and Caleb. Such wonderful people who I am very proud to call family.

Thinking of you

Vicki Pickett Aug 09, 2011

Hi Jo,
Just wanted to say we are still thinking of you all and hoping that you are all coping as well as you can. I know here at work (Barwon) we still each day think of Dave and miss his happy friendly face.
I wanted to send you this and say, that our thoughts are with you and hope with each day, life gets easier to handle and there are lots of happier times ahead for your family.

It will get easier I promise I lost my Husband in a car accident when my kids were 2&4 and although you always have your sad times, life does go on and your kids will always be your strength and you will be theirs.

Thanks Vicki Life is still very hard and painful. But you are right it does go on. We are blessed with great support from friends and family. It is very touching that David is missed and we are in peoples thoughts. Regards Jo

Dave came to my husband's memorial service. The words that he spoke were very comforting. I did not know Dave all that well as he worked with my late husband, , but I will never forget those words of wisdom and comfort..

Rest in peace my friend, there is a bigger house in heaven.
