About

Grindal, Joanne

Joanne Grindal

After a year of battling brain tumours Joanne Grindal passed away on February 9, 2010, age 42, at her home in Killara with her family. Born November 11, 1967 in Montreal, Joanne is survived by Iain her husband for 18 years and their two boys
Tyler (13) and Connor (11). In Montreal are Joanne's parents Christine and Frank Salvaggio, her younger sister Karen
(married to Amid), her two nieces Sabrine and Leena and her Grandma-mere Sophie.

Joanne's dearest achievements were at home and the community. For the boys she instilled values of citizenship,
responsibility, determination, toleration and the value of education. Outside of the home she was immersed in their
school, their sports and the local church.

Joanne was a soulmate to her husband Iain. Married in
Montreal on May 11, 1991. Travelled for a year, lived in London for most of the 1990 s and moved to Sydney in 2000.
They forged a life together, built on their own efforts, determination and fortitude to succeed. Their greatest success
being Tyler & Connor.

Her values of giving and love is why she will be greatly missed,
not only by Iain, Tyler and Connor, her family in Montreal, but by all the people she has touched in her short time here on
Earth.

Donations to the Oncology Children Foundation in Joanne's
honour will be appreciated. There will be a Global Swimathon on March 6, 2010 and details can be found at
www.everydayhero.com.au/swim_4_jo. Memorial service at 15.00 Monday (February 15, 2010) at Macquarie Park
Cemetery.
