Memories

Fae Bolton, Gold Coast

Fae Moir Feb 12, 2012

Jim will be forever in my heart and memory. Still today I constantly go back to his teachings and compassion and understanding, It's sort of like he reaches out to help even though he is resting now. I miss Jim badly but I know he is always there for all of us. I have been in this fellowship for 40 years now but Jim is still my stalwart. Always a Day at a Time. Thank you Jim, and I send my love to Gael and all your children and grandchildren.

A Life that gave so much

Jayne Nov 19, 2011

Having been sober for many years my memories of Jim are from Langton Clinic where I (under the guidance of the late Stan and Roma of Ramsgate) used to drive patients to the the Sans Souci meeting, I did meet Jim but memories are mostly of patients all telling stories of sessions with Jim MacLaine...............................Jim gave these patients what they needed - not what they wanted...................... which gave many the truth they needed to find their way to sobriety. I am currently studying so that I may help people in some small way and will be telling my classmates about Jim and quoting from his book (with recognition of course). He is the only published author that I could find that clearly states the genetic factor of alcoholism. I wanted his family to know that his work goes on. My thanks to Jim and my prayers to his family

Thank you

I have only just heard the sad news of Jims passing. This man was the first human being that could see real glimmer of hope inside the wreck of a human being I was in 1983. I own my life to him. Thanks Jim

Our Group's Tribute to Jim

Martha C. Sep 03, 2011

Our Groups were priviliged to have Jim Address a public information meeting we organised on "Alcoholism, the Family Disease" early last year. He very generously gave of his time on a Saturday afternoon, and importantly shared his knowledge on Alcoholism from his vast experience treating alcoholics and their families for over three decades. Jim had an exceptional compassion for the alcoholic that is much-needed in our society. We mourn his passing.
