About

Leslie,Ernest Kenneth

LESLIE
The Right Reverend
Ernest Kenneth OBE

Geelong Grammar
School remembers
Ken Leslie with pride
and affection as the
Chaplain of Timbertop
through its earliest
years,1953-58.

A decade of service
in the Northern
Territory and as an
army chaplain had
given him an
extraordinary
knowledge of the
outback and of
human nature.

He went straight
from Timbertop to
22 years of
remarkable service
as Bishop of Bathurst.

In his last year with
us, the Chapel of St
John the Baptist was
built at Timbertop
with his help and
inspiration.

His direct and
stalwart character
was a great influence
for good.

Our loving thoughts
go to his children,
Michael (an Old
Geelong Grammarian),
Kathryn, and Simon
(a former HEAD of
Timbertop) and their
families.
