My Son Michael

My son Michael was a hard working,loving,thoughtful son.He loved to fish and spending time with his 5 year old son Nathan his mother and sisters.He worked for Kroger's for 8 years running the frozen food department.He never missed a day from work.I never knew my son was depressed until 2 weeks prior to his death.Michael was suppose to move to Richmond,Va to get his life back on track but,unfortunatly it never happened.Christmas Eve Morning 2007 I get a davastating phone call from my sister telling me I needed to get home that something bad has happen to Michael.When she told me my son commited suicide I fell to the floor crying and could not believe what I just heard.I lost my mother 6 months before his death so, losing 2 of the most important people in your life was so hard and davastating.Losing my mother was hard enough but,losing my son was even harder.The feeeling was so different.I use to ask why,why,why but now, I never will know the answer to why?I honestly believe with my faith is what has gotten me through all of this and I know in my heart I will see him again one day through the golden gates of heaven.I think about him every day and the tears will always flow.My heart aches for him everyday.I miss and love my son so very much.Christmas isn't the same without you here!

Michael had a funny outgoing personality about him.He loved to joke and he loved to fish and spend time with family.He especially loved his son Nathan so very much.I will always cherish the good memories he left behind.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.We never know what is going through someones mind who have decided to commit suicide.I do know they are in a lot of pain and they usually will not talk about it to anyone.I had nio idea my son was planning this.I feel bad cause I lost my mother 6 months before his death from MS and I told him at least she is not suffering anymore and in a better place.I still wonder if he had thought about what i said as he was probably planning his journey after my mother passing?I just wish he had reached out to me more but,he wasn't like that.Just wanna say keep your faith and GOD will see you through.God Bless You...

God bless you my heart aches for you. Suicide is tragic and traumatic and one of the hardest things to deal with as we are left feeling so sad for the victim's pain and anguish that they must have been going through. I lost someone that I loved dearly 3 weeks ago, he was 32 years old, and I think it's even harder for me to accept as he came over to visit me the night that he killed himself. I knew he was down, we talked, I tried to point out the positives, and suggested he see a councillor, I thought I had gotten through to him after our 3 hours of talking, but sadly he drove to an isolated area a few hours later and committed suicide. I believe he had planned it way before he did it, and looking back I know that he was in fact coming to say goodbye to me that night. I am in pain every single day and can't sit on my verandah just yet as that is where we sat and it hurts too much. My thoughts are with you. The pain of losing a loved one is tremendous, but to lose them to suicide is indescribable. Rebecca
